Deliveries of vehicle kits for car assembly in Cuba may resume in the near future. UAZ announced the continuation of cooperation with the Cuban side and reported on efforts to restore the project, which had previously been put on hold.

The company's press service stated that interaction with partners on the Island of Freedom continues. The company expects an improvement in external conditions and, together with the Cuban side, is working on resuming the supply of components for local car production.
The UAZ car assembly plant began operations in Havana in the spring of 2025. The site produced "Patriot" and "Pickup" models adapted to local conditions. In the first stage, the project envisioned the production of up to 500 vehicles annually, and at full capacity, the volume could reach 1,500 cars per year.
Production was halted in March 2026. One of the key reasons cited was the energy crisis on the island, which affected not only the automotive industry but also a number of strategically important productions.
Meanwhile, UAZ continues to update its model range in the Russian market. In late May, the Sollers group showed a modernized "Patriot" SUV, as well as updated versions of the "Profi" and "Pickup" models. Their official market launch is expected in the autumn of this year.
