Su-75 Checkmate will become cheaper: the military set strict conditions before serial production

The single-engine aircraft will gain a market advantage due to low operating costs

The promising fifth-generation Su-75 Checkmate fighter is being developed for both the Russian market and foreign buyers. At the same time, one of the key requirements from the Ministry of Defense remains to reduce the cost of the aircraft. This was announced by Vadim Badeha, CEO of the United Aircraft Corporation.

According to him, the timing of serial deliveries will depend on the interest of potential customers and the progress of negotiations on the project. The developer expects that the aircraft will be able to occupy its niche due to a combination of modern characteristics and lower costs compared to heavy twin-engine fighters.

The main advantage of a single-engine fighter is the lower cost of the aircraft itself and its operations. Today, this is of great importance for the Ministry of Defense. We are ready to play by these rules.
Vadim Badeha, Head of OAK
