An-124 "Ruslan" for the first time transported a "Superjet" inside its fuselage

The damaged SSJ-100 had been in Antalya, Turkey, for the past year and a half

The heavy transport aircraft An-124 "Ruslan" transported the damaged Sukhoi Superjet 100 of "Azimut" Airlines with tail number RA-89085 from Antalya, Turkey, to Russia. The airliner will be sent for dismantling.

The footage shows that the wings, struts, engines, and caissons of the SSJ-100 were dismantled before being loaded into the cargo compartment of the "Ruslan".

Recall that the incident with the SSJ-100 occurred on November 24, 2024, during flight A4 5051 from Sochi.

During landing, the aircraft experienced significant overload, which resulted in the destruction of the left main landing gear strut with damage to the wing and fuselage skin. The SSJ-100 was eight years old at the time of the incident.

The An-124 is one of the heaviest-lift aircraft in world history. Its maximum takeoff weight of 405 tons allows it to perform transportation of almost any complexity. For example, there is no alternative for transporting satellites and super-heavy generators.
