Rostec announced on May 26 the delivery of a second batch of Su-35S fighters to the Aerospace Forces in 2026. The first aircraft were delivered on April 17. The number of aircraft delivered and their tail numbers are not disclosed.
The publication "Aviatsiya Rossii" reported that, taking into account serial deliveries from 2012 to the end of 2024, the Su-35S fleet in the Russian Aerospace Forces was estimated at approximately 135 aircraft.
By the end of 2025, the total number of aircraft of this type reached approximately 155 units.
For comparison, foreign researchers estimate the Su-35S fleet at approximately 120 aircraft. Official figures are classified. Serial production of the Su-35S is carried out at the Komsomolsk-on-Amur Aircraft Plant named after Yu.A. Gagarin.
Ruslan Pukhov, head of the Center for Analysis of Strategies and Technologies, noted that the Su-35S surpasses foreign fourth-generation fighters, including the Boeing F-15 and Lockheed Martin F-16, and in terms of combat parameters — the F-22 Raptor and F-35 Lightning II.
The 4th generation combat aircraft is capable of sharply soaring upwards at a speed of up to 800 km/h in pitch to attack an appearing target.
