New type of drone protection for factories invented in Russia

RSPP proposed using electronic warfare and laser systems for industrial facility defense

The Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs proposed using electronic warfare systems and laser installations, not just light small arms, to protect industrial facilities from UAVs. This was announced by RSPP head Alexander Shokhin.

According to him, this refers to a new mechanism for interaction between the government, business, and the Ministry of Defense to counter terrorist attacks. However, some issues will require additional regulation, Shokhin noted.

They are related to the mechanisms for providing weaponry — not only light weapons of 7.62 caliber, but also larger ones. This includes various electronic warfare systems, laser installations, and other calibers.

He added that companies are ready to participate in financing such measures to protect enterprises from attacks.

But some mechanism is needed where financing schemes are clear. Whether it's some kind of fund, or other targeted financing.

Dmitry Kuzyakin, General Designer of the Center for Integrated Unmanned Solutions, explained that combined drone protection can be divided into several levels. This includes mobile anti-aircraft groups, Pantsir crews, military helicopters, and FPV air defense units.
