Russian engineers have begun testing a new version of the Kinzhal interceptor drone with the ability to accelerate up to 600 km/h. This was announced by Gerard Ismagilov, head of the robotics department of the developing company.
According to him, work on updating the aircraft has already begun.
We are already developing a new version of the "Kinzhal-600", which will allow the drone to fly 20 km at a speed of 600 km/h and carry a payload of up to 1.5 kg.
It should be noted that Ismagilov did not specify what exactly he meant by the payload of the "Kinzhal-600". The most popular interceptor drone now is "Yolka", but it does not carry a warhead on board and hits drones exclusively with a kinetic strike.
In that case, "Yolka" accelerates to 230 km/h. Electronic warfare systems are not able to jam the interceptor — the control channel is simply absent.
