The Metal Structures Plant (ZMK, Engels) has received a certificate of conformity TR TS 001/2011 for the serial production of tank cars 15-3239 and 15-3239-01 for the transportation of liquefied petroleum gases (LPG). The document confirms the safety of the rolling stock and permits its operation in the EAEU countries.
The certificate will be valid until May 2031. The planned production volume for each model is 7 thousand units.
Characteristics of tank car 15-3239:
- Type — four-axle wagon with an axle load of 23.5 tf
- Nominal tank volume — 87.7 m³
- Load capacity — 57 t
- Service life — 40 years
- Bogie configuration — 18-6771 from ZMK or 18-9918 from RWS Wagon
- Mileage — 210 thousand km or 3 years
The new product from ZMK surpasses Russian analogues in terms of load capacity and tank volume, including the 15-6758 tank car from NovoTechRail. However, the 15-3239 is inferior to the 15-3234 model produced by Atyrau Wagon Building Plant with a load capacity of 58 t and a tank volume of 88.0 m³.
ZMK has been expanding its range of tank cars since 2024. In 2025, the enterprise produced about 1.4 thousand different models.
