Rostec to unveil Citadel anti-aircraft system with "smart" projectiles for the first time

The new product will be presented at the international security forum

Rostec has developed the latest anti-aircraft artillery complex (ZAK) "Citadel", designed to combat drones. The premiere of the new product will take place at the First International Security Forum, the state corporation's press service reported.

The ZAK-30 "Citadel" has a caliber of 30 mm and is designed to protect stationary objects from multi-rotor and aircraft-type drones. The system can operate around the clock and has confirmed its combat characteristics in real conditions.

"Citadel" has both optoelectronic and radar systems for detecting and tracking enemy drones. The optical channel operates in the visible and IR ranges.

The "Citadel" projectiles with a remotely controlled fuse have a shrapnel filling. The guidance system independently calculates the most advantageous point for the projectile to detonate depending on the target's flight trajectory, Rostec concluded.

The First International Security Forum will be held at the "Live Arena" venue in the Moscow region from May 26 to 29.
