Honored Test Pilot Reveals Details of Su-57D's First Flight

Sergey Bogdan: Two-seat fighter version being prepared for extended tests with high G-forces

During the first test flight of the new two-seat Su-57D fighter, extreme flight modes were not tested. This was stated by test pilot Hero of Russia Sergey Bogdan, who took the aircraft into the air during its maiden flight.

The pilot explained that in the initial stages of testing, the aircraft is checked under standard conditions, and extreme maneuvers are planned for a later date.

The behavior is absolutely identical, but I would like to emphasize that, naturally, there will be some differences, but they will manifest when we reach quite extreme and limiting modes: large angles of attack, high angular velocities of rotation, high indicated airspeeds with certain rotations.

The first flight of the fifth-generation multi-role fighter Su-57D was performed by Sergey Bogdan as part of the flight test program conducted by the United Aircraft Corporation, which is part of the Rostec State Corporation.

The company notes that the two-seat version of the aircraft can be used to control groups of manned and unmanned aircraft and to create a unified information and control combat loop.

Earlier, "Perviy Tekhnicheskiy" reported that the two-seat Su-57D could become the main version of the Russian fighter.
