Russia's First F-Class Turbine Encounters Problems

The GTE-65.1 gas unit will likely need to be shut down for modifications

The innovative GTE-65.1 F-class gas turbine from "Silovye Mashiny" will likely need to be regularly shut down and modified during its first years of operation at Permskaya TPP-14. Maintenance of the new equipment has proven more complex than expected.

T Plus company requested a softening of penalties for possible delays and for additional costs to be factored into the capacity price.

The unit with the innovative turbine will most likely be shut down and possibly modified during the initial period of operation.

GTE-65.1 is Russia's first high-power F-class gas turbine, designed to reduce the industry's dependence on foreign equipment.

Earlier, it became known that the inter-service intervals of domestic turbines are shorter than their Western counterparts, and repairs take much longer. As a result, the equipment is ready for operation about 70% of the time, compared to 95% for foreign installations.
