In Nizhny Novgorod, the industrial robotics plant "VR Robotics" has been launched. Investments in the new production site exceeded 100 million rubles. The enterprise plans to produce up to 200 robotic welding cells per year, said Maxim Cherkasov, head of the regional Ministry of Industry and Trade.
The investor received state support measures. The enterprise was provided with preferential financing in the amount of 50 million rubles at 7.25 percent per annum. In addition, in 2021, the company won a grant of 25 million rubles for the development of robotic welding cells, which will now be produced in Nizhny Novgorod.
The finished products are in demand in the automotive, aerospace, machine-building, and other industries. However, the production cannot be called entirely domestic: according to images on the company's website, the welding cells use robots from the Japanese corporation Yaskawa.
Nevertheless, the very fact of the plant's launch indicates the development of industrial cooperation and localization of robotic solutions in Russia.
