"Geran-4" Modernized: Drone Can Now Fly at Altitudes up to 6000 Meters at 500 km/h

The updated drone received a redesigned fuselage and a more powerful jet engine

The Russian attack drone "Geran-4" has undergone another modernization. The updated version received an enlarged jet engine and a redesigned fuselage, which allowed increasing the maximum speed of the aircraft to 500 km/h and raising the altitude ceiling to 6000 meters. This assumption was made by analysts of the Telegram channel "Pro UAV and Technologies".

Changes affected both the power plant and the aerodynamics of the body. Thanks to the new engine, the drone is able to reach the target area faster and reduce flight time. Increasing the operating altitude also complicates the detection and interception of the aircraft by air defense systems.

The modernization will increase the survivability and effectiveness of the drone in conditions of a saturated air defense system. The increase in speed makes the aircraft less vulnerable to mobile anti-aircraft systems and small arms.

Against the background of increasing effectiveness of detection systems, developers are increasingly relying on a combination of altitude, speed, and stealth. This allows drones to maintain effectiveness even with dense opposition from modern air defense systems.
