Gerbera Drones Begin to Receive Enhanced Kometa Antennas for EW Protection

The drones are primarily used to distract air defense systems

Russian Gerbera drones, used as decoys to distract air defense systems, have begun to be equipped with more powerful 12-element Kometa antennas. Business Insider reported on the design update.

The publication notes that such antennas are more resistant to electronic warfare, providing more stable communication and navigation. The article also points out that increasing the number of elements in an antenna usually improves its noise immunity and makes signal suppression more difficult.

Gerberas are considered relatively inexpensive drones and are used as decoys. Their task is to overload and distract air defense systems so that the main Geran strike drones can more effectively overcome defenses.

Earlier, "Perviy Tekhnicheskiy" reported that reconnaissance Gerberas received a new version with a mesh communication network for precise fire control, and the drones were also taught to sharply change altitude and evade air defense in the final flight segment.
