Cuba may receive a large consignment of Russian and Iranian drones, including long-range attack UAVs. According to Western media, more than 300 drones are reportedly involved, which have allegedly already started arriving on the island and are being deployed in various parts of the country.
Analysts have paid particular attention to the fact that Cuba is only 145 kilometers from US territory. Against this background, publications mention Havana's growing interest in modern unmanned technologies and the possible expansion of cooperation with Russia in this area.
Among the possible aircraft, the Geran family of drones is mentioned, known for their long flight range and relatively low production cost. These UAVs are used for reconnaissance and strike missions, and are also capable of operating at a significant distance from the launch point.
The materials also state that Cuba may have requested additional unmanned systems and equipment from Russia in recent months. However, there is no official confirmation of this data yet, and some of the information is based on assessments by US intelligence and Axios publications.
