On May 28, KAMAZ unmanned trucks will deliver goods outside of Russia for the first time. This refers to a full-fledged international cross-border transportation on regular roads. The first cross-border transportation was announced by State Secretary – Deputy Minister of Transport of Russia Dmitry Zverev during a session of the "Russia – Islamic World: KazanForum" forum.
Preparing such a launch was quite difficult. However, unmanned vehicles on public roads have already come close to the possibility of crossing the state border, said the deputy head of the department.
I will announce the date – on May 28, the first cross-border transportation of goods by unmanned trucks will be carried out.
He also noted that the event will be presented to the presidents of the two states. From the reports, it is not yet clear with which country the first trip will be made. However, there are two possible versions: China and Kazakhstan.
Currently, 101 unmanned trucks are already operating on Russian roads. According to the Ministry of Transport, they have collectively covered more than 14.5 million kilometers without a single accident.
