Aviation industry in financial hole before delivery of dozens of MC-21, Il-114-300, and SJ-100 aircraft

Head of OAK stated the need for preferential financing for the industry

The successful development of the aircraft manufacturing industry in Russia requires preferential financing. This was stated by Vadim Badeha, head of the United Aircraft Corporation (OAK).

According to him, today airlines are forced to attract expensive loans. This affects the cost of air travel and negatively impacts passengers' perception of them.

Therefore, the issue of preferential financing is also key and decisive here.

Recall that the corporation plans to deliver more than 70 aircraft by the end of 2027, including 18 MC-21s, 42 SJ-100s, 11 Tu-214s, and three Il-114-300s. Deliveries of the second batch until 2035 will require more than 3 trillion rubles, as reported by Deputy Head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade Gennady Abramenkov.

At the same time, just last week, Rostec CEO Sergey Chemezov stated that by 2030, Russia plans to produce annually 36 MC-21 aircraft, 20 Superjets, and 12 Il-114-300s.
