Russian Navy's Borei nuclear submarines protected from UAVs for the first time

Project 955 submarines covered with anti-drone nets

Strategic nuclear submarines of projects 955 "Borei" and 955A "Borei-A" of the Russian Navy have been covered from drones for the first time. This was reported by the Telegram channel "Osvedomitel".

Analysts drew attention to a satellite image showing two Pacific Fleet submarines at their base. Judging by the footage, an anti-drone net was stretched over the missile cruisers.

Recall that submarines of projects 955 and 955A are carriers of the D-30 complex with Bulava ballistic missiles. The missile's range is 9.3 thousand km. According to open information, there are five Borei submarines in the Pacific Fleet.

Before this, photos of the submarines "Mozhaisk" of project 636.3 and "Dmitrov" of project 877EKM with installed elements of additional protection against drones went viral online. But in that case, it was about so-called "mangals", which are usually used to cover armored vehicles.
