Russia's naval strategic nuclear forces (designed for nuclear deterrence and delivering nuclear missile strikes) will be reinforced with 4 Project 955A Borei-A submarines in the coming years. Two of them are under construction. These strategic submarines of the latest generation are armed with Bulava ballistic missiles, as well as other modern weapons.
Vladimir Putin, President of Russia

According to the head of state, the construction of underwater strategic missile carriers is a priority for the country, as it ensures a balance of power. Submarines that can carry missiles with nuclear warheads are an important component of the nuclear triad. It is also necessary to continue the serial production of Yasen-M project submarines, Putin added.

The President noted that the future of the Russian Navy is determined by promising developments. These include multifunctional robotic complexes.

It is obvious that this weapon will largely determine the future of the Navy.
Vladimir Putin, President of Russia

Domestic engineers must ensure Russia's leadership in this area, Putin concluded.
