Gagaring Laboratory developed the FPV drone "Gennady" as part of the import substitution program. Engineers created a drone that consists almost entirely of Russian components. The exception is the gyroscope and several minor elements. Even the XT60 connector, which is usually supplied from abroad, is domestic in "Gennady".
The drone is produced in several frame variants: aluminum, pressed carbon, and reinforced polyamide. The domestic K1921BK01T2 flight controller developed by NIIET, which combines autopilot and initiator functions, is used as the basis. The speed controller is also Russian – K1946BK035 based on a domestic microcontroller.
The engines for "Gennady" were produced by Dronmotors (model 3115 450KV). The 10-inch propellers weighing 25 grams are made of PA6+GF30 material – they are produced by Rokot Tech. The body with side perforation for board cooling and heat dissipation was designed in the Gagaring laboratory.
"Gennady" is made with a single-board architecture with a communication module that allows quick changes of video and control frequencies. The built-in "Otblesk" initiator is designed for contact and non-contact impact on the target. The quick-release body with one thumb screw simplifies the installation of the warhead and maintenance of the drone.
