Accurate and Economical: Dontekh Drone Tractor Compared to MTZ-80

DSTU's development surpassed the Belarusian agricultural machine in some parameters

The newest unmanned hybrid tractor "Dontekh" and MTZ-80 were used in field tests on the territory of the educational and experimental training ground of Don State Technical University (DSTU). This was reported by the university's press service.

Comparison of operational characteristics and other parameters showed that the DSTU tractor fully meets the basic requirements for agricultural machinery and significantly outperforms in certain aspects.

Advantages of the Dontekh tractor:

  • Productivity is 1.5-2 times higher than that of a conventional tractor
  • Operates on internal combustion engine and electric traction
  • Remote control via tablet
  • Control system does not depend on Internet availability
"Dontekh" is the first unmanned tractor in Russia of traction class 1.4 with a hybrid power plant, created by DSTU specialists.

The university's press service emphasized that the MTZ-80 is a classic agricultural machine with manual control. It must be operated by a highly qualified mechanic. The tractor runs on diesel fuel.

The "Dontekh" drone is fully automated. Thanks to the machine vision system, the tractor accurately cultivates the soil, avoiding omissions. On electric traction, it not only saves fuel but also reduces emissions into the atmosphere.
