Rosatom crossed out Siemens: German company lost contracts due to supply disruptions

Germany lost influence due to its rejection of nuclear energy and damaged its reputation, the state corporation said

Rosatom refused further cooperation with German Siemens, as it found alternative suppliers both in Russia and in friendly countries. This was stated in an interview with Interfax by the head of the state corporation, Alexey Likhachev.

According to Likhachev, after abandoning nuclear energy, Germany lost influence in the global market and also damaged its reputation as a supplier with "inappropriate behavior." Now, Rosatom uses only solutions not related to Siemens in its projects both domestically and abroad.

In October 2024, Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak stated that Siemens violated contractual obligations for the supply of equipment to the Turkish Akkuyu NPP. Negotiations with the German company yielded no results – the necessary equipment was never shipped.
