Mobile operator Beeline has added a feature to its mobile application that displays the current communication status and the operability of "whitelists." As RBC was informed by the company's press service, the information is shown on the main screen as a banner that automatically disappears when the network is restored. The feature is already available throughout Russia.
The innovation is designed to replace text notifications, which do not always reach subscribers during mobile internet outages. Now, users can instantly understand whether the lack of connection is due to temporary security measures or a technical malfunction, without having to call support.
The solution is particularly relevant after the recent communication outages on May 9, when mobile internet and SMS were temporarily restricted in Moscow and other cities.
Similar functions are not yet available from other operators of the "big four" – MTS, MegaFon, and T2. These companies limit themselves to warning SMS messages, not offering a unified visual network status in their applications.
