Russia Prepares New "Oreshnik" with 8 Warheads Instead of 6

Military analyst Drago Bosnic: BRSD speed of Mach 10 may be underestimated

Russia is working on an advanced version of the Oreshnik hypersonic missile, which may receive an expanded payload and improved control systems. This was stated by Balkan military analyst Drago Bosnic.

He noted that in the new modification, the number of missile blocks will increase from six to eight. Each of them is capable of carrying several dozen warheads.

This is unprecedented firepower for a single missile. Such a weapon is truly revolutionary, as previously it only made sense with nuclear warheads.

Bosnic separately noted that the stated speed of Oreshnik, around Mach 10, may be underestimated by at least half.

The RS-26 Rubezh missile can fly at speeds of 20 to 25 Mach. Combined with more advanced warheads, the successor to Oreshnik becomes even more formidable.

Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council Dmitry Medvedev recently stated that the country is working on promising types of weapons. He emphasized that it's not just about Oreshnik, but did not provide any details.

Chinese analysts from the Sohu portal explained that Oreshnik's invulnerability to air defense and electronic warfare systems is due to the use of Soviet vacuum tubes, which are immune to interference.
