Specialists at the D. M. Karbyshev Military Engineering Academy have patented a new ground robotic platform with a multi-strand line charge designed to create passages through minefields. The development makes it possible to carry out explosive demining remotely.
According to the patent description, the robot was equipped with a lightly armored body on a tracked chassis and a remote-control system via a protected communication channel. The platform is fitted with a module featuring guides and reels of detonating charge, which is laid out evenly across the hazardous area.
The authors of the development clarified that the use of a multi-strand charge without a rocket motor reduces noise and eliminates bright flashes. This increases operational safety and makes the demining process more controllable.
The platform is intended to create continuous passages in mined terrain, making it possible to ensure the advance of equipment and personnel. The uniform placement of the charge increases the width of the safe corridor, the developers emphasized.
