The new Arrow-3 anti-missile system (Arrow-3, developed by Israel and the United States) deployed in Germany cannot intercept the Russian Oreshnik medium-range ballistic missile (MRBM). This is according to the German newspaper Die Welt.
German journalists claim that Arrow-3 is currently in the early stages of operation. The complex is deployed in the federal state of Saxony-Anhalt in the east of the country.
The Oreshnik MRBM, with a range of 5.5 thousand km, can strike anywhere in Europe, and the systems available to Germany will not be able to stop this threat, according to Die Welt.
The journalists also spoke with a source in NATO. According to him, the Arrow-3 system is not yet fully combat-ready.
Theoretically, the Patriot complex could be used for interception, but it is not designed to combat hypersonic missiles.
German authorities have expressed concern about the capabilities of Russian weapons. Berlin believes that the current configuration of the Arrow-3 complex is completely useless. In fact, the country has nothing to counter the "Oreshnik".
