Kazakhstan will participate in the modernization of the Russian "Soyuz-5" rocket. This was announced by the head of Roscosmos, Dmitry Bakanov.
According to him, the launch of the carrier from the Baikonur Cosmodrome on May 1 became an important event for the interstate project "Baiterek", which is being implemented by Kazakhstan and Russia.
Our colleagues from Kazakhstan, partners in the "Baiterek" project, have now also joined the club of space powers, and we congratulate them on this.
Bakanov added that the countries jointly plan to develop "Soyuz-5" to improve the rocket's characteristics.
"Soyuz-5" was built by the Samara RCC "Progress". The rocket is designed for launching automatic spacecraft into various near-Earth orbits, including with the use of upper stages.
