Science Fiction Comes True: Russia Develops an Airship with an Autogyro Wing

The airship developed by DKBA will be useful in agriculture

The Dolgoprudny Design Bureau of Automatics (DKBA) presented a project for an airship with an autogyro main wing and cruise engines. The development is aimed at use in small aviation, including for agricultural work.

The design combines the lift of an airship and the aerodynamic support of a wing. This allows for stable low-speed operation and increases the volume of payload per flight.

The fertilizer container is located within the permissible center of gravity, and spraying is carried out into the rear hemisphere, which reduces the impact on the structure and increases operational safety.

This scheme significantly increases the productivity of agricultural processing and reduces the load on the crew due to the sealed cabin and remote spraying control.

The proposed device ensures high flight safety in the ground layer and increases the mass of a single container filling by more than 10 times compared to conventional autogyros.

Additionally, the system is designed for simplified operation. Just one refueling cycle allows for long-term operation, reducing logistics and maintenance requirements.
