Mi-8 helicopter with rescuers landed 10 km from the collapse of the Kadykchansky mine

The aircraft was only able to land a few kilometers from the emergency site

In the Magadan region, after the rock collapse at the Kadykchansky coal mine, rescuers and investigators are reaching the scene of the incident using heavy equipment. A "Aviatsiya Kolyma" helicopter was able to land approximately 10 kilometers from the emergency zone.

According to the regional department of the Investigative Committee, the group continued its journey by land due to difficult conditions in the accident area. Emergency services personnel and investigators were on board, who are expected to begin work at the collapse site.

According to the Magadan Region Ministry of Emergency Situations, there is no information yet about the landing of a second Mi-8 helicopter. It was previously dispatched to the scene with an operational group of rescuers.

Earlier, "Pervy Tekhnichesky" reported that a rock mass collapse occurred at the Kadykchansky coal mine in the Susumansky urban district of the Magadan region. According to preliminary data, up to eight people may be under the rubble.

The search and rescue operation continues.
