Thinner than a matchstick: a machine for processing parts up to 4 mm was launched at St. Petersburg's LOMO

The equipment replaced an outdated counterpart

At the Leningrad Optical-Mechanical Association (JSC "LOMO", part of the Kalashnikov Concern), a modern automatic turning machine has been put into operation. The equipment was purchased to replace an old machine under the company's production capacity re-equipment program.

The new machine is designed for high-precision processing of small parts with an outer diameter of up to 4 millimeters and a complex surface profile. Such products are used in the manufacture of high-precision goods. The launch of the equipment will make it possible to increase output volumes, shorten the technological cycle due to higher processing speed, and expand the range of products manufactured.

The commissioning of the new machine is another stage in the large-scale modernization of LOMO's production capacities aimed at improving the company's quality, productivity, and technological independence, the Kalashnikov Concern reported .
