The national digital platform is introducing functionality that has long become standard in Telegram and VKontakte. Polls in group chats and a tool for creating custom sticker packs will appear before the May holidays, while testing of comments in channels will be completed by summer, RIA Novosti reports, citing a source on the development team.
The press service of the Max messenger did not confirm the timeline, but acknowledged active work in these areas. By the beginning of April, 110 million people had registered on the platform, and more than 80 million users log in daily.
After the blocking and throttling of Western services, Max became the main beneficiary of the shift of the Russian audience, but for a full-fledged replacement of familiar communication tools it lacked precisely community features: the ability to vote in chats, discuss posts, and express oneself through stickers.
