The fake about internet shutdown and the transition to "Uralnet" was debunked in Sverdlovsk Region

Scammers are sending letters with IP loggers disguised as an order from the Ministry of Digital Development

Regional authorities warned of a massive cyberattack involving the distribution of a fake "Order No. 151-P-03" allegedly issued on behalf of the Ministry of Digital Development and Communications. The document, which supposedly terminates access to the global network from May 1 and introduces a closed system called "Uralnet," is being distributed from fake accounts and email addresses, the Department of Information Policy of Sverdlovsk Region reported.

Attachments in the fraudulent emails contain IP loggers: when a file is opened or a link is followed, attackers obtain data about the device, its geolocation, and network parameters. The department emphasized that all official correspondence is sent only from government email servers and urged residents to ignore suspicious mailings.

The fake exploits fear of digital isolation, which is periodically fueled by rumors about the creation of a sovereign Runet.
