Western escort: Russian Tu-22M3s flew over the Baltic accompanied by fighter jets from foreign states

Russian Aerospace Forces Long-Range Aviation aircraft carried out the mission with Su-35 support

Russian Aerospace Forces Tu-22M3 long-range supersonic missile-carrying bombers carried out a scheduled flight over the neutral waters of the Baltic Sea. Along certain sections, they were escorted by fighter jets from Western states, the press service of the Russian Ministry of Defence reported.

Fighter escort was provided by the crews of Russian Aerospace Forces Su-35 aircraft.

The defence ministry emphasized that Russian Aerospace Forces aircraft conduct flights in accordance with international rules for the use of airspace. Long-Range Aviation crews regularly fly routes over the Arctic, the North Atlantic, the Pacific Ocean, the Baltic, and the Black Sea.
