The Prosecutor's Office of Tatarstan did not support the request by PAO Tupolev to reduce the penalty sought by Tatneft in a lawsuit for 11.7 billion rubles. The agency stated that the debt is documented.
A representative of the aircraft manufacturer also petitioned to postpone the hearing, citing the preparation of an amicable settlement agreement.
However, Tatneft said that the defendant had enough time to submit the document, including by email, and accused it of abuse of process.
The dispute is related to the supply of Tu-214 aircraft for UVT Aero, an airline owned by Tatneft. Tupolev refunded the money for only one aircraft. After that, the customer went to court.
Tupolev is the lead enterprise of OAK's special and strategic aviation division and the manufacturer of the Tu-160 White Swan strategic missile carriers.
Independent expert Aleksei Zakharov previously stated that the state will not allow the corporation to go bankrupt, despite the significant financial claims.
