Gunsmith Vladislav Lobaev has completed the development of the "Double" robotic sniper complex and has begun its serial production. The complex can operate in remote control mode and in a mode of significant autonomy, where most of the functions are taken over by AI. "Double" is installed stationary or on mobile platforms, such as the NRTK "Courier", demonstrating a shooting accuracy of 0.2 MOA.
The complex is equipped with an electric drive for the bolt and trigger, and is available in several calibers. A quasi-hypersonic cartridge with an initial velocity of 1530 m/s has been developed for the anti-drone version.
Alexey Vasiliev, the author of the Telegram channel "Russian Engineer", called the complex a breakthrough that sets the trend in the development of sniping for decades to come. According to him, the electric drive and hypersonic bullet provide minimal drift from the wind and open up a new application for high-precision small arms - combating drones.
The expert especially praised the technical design. Vasiliev contrasted "Double" with the "dismal cargo cult of Chinese engineers", who, in his opinion, mindlessly complicate designs.
And against this background, the technical elaboration down to the smallest detail, not only of the product itself, but also of the place on the battlefield, taking into account real combat experience, technically elegant solutions aimed not at the thing itself, but at achieving the ultimate goal with maximum efficiency - such a level of the Russian engineering school and thought is pleasing.
