The Russian defense industry has launched serial production of the "Double" robotic sniper complex with elements of artificial intelligence. The development was presented by Lobaev Arms, which completed the initiative project and moved on to the industrial production of the system.
The new complex is capable of operating both under remote operator control and in a highly autonomous mode, when the AI algorithm takes over the main part of calculations and management functions.
The "Double" is universal: it can be installed stationary on fortified positions or mounted on mobile platforms, including the NRTK "Courier". The declared shooting accuracy reaches 0.2 MOA — an indicator that puts the system into the category of ultra-precise solutions for special tasks.
Structurally, the complex is equipped with an electric drive for the bolt and trigger mechanism, which ensures automatic reloading immediately after the bullet leaves the barrel. The rate of fire is regulated by the operator depending on the tactical situation.
The system is available in several versions for 5.56×45 mm, 7.62×51 mm, 6.5 mm Creedmoor and 6.5×47 mm Lapua cartridges, which allows adapting the complex to different application scenarios — from counter-sniper combat to operation at extreme distances.
Lobaev Arms emphasizes that the "Double" is positioned not just as a new weapon, but as a technological breakthrough that can set the vector for the development of sniping for the coming decades.
