A free Wi-Fi hotspot has started working on the Gorely volcano in Kamchatka — right in the caldera, within a radius of 200 meters. You can connect using the QR code on the banner at the zero kilometer mark of the road from the village of Termalny, reported in ATOR.
The equipment was installed by the mining company "Areal" and the provider "InterKamService". The plans include expanding the network: new points will appear at the ascent to Gorely and on the shore of Lake Tolmacheva.
The place is strategic: routes to the Mutnovsky and Opala volcanoes, as well as to Lake Tolmacheva, diverge from here. Gorely is one of the most active volcanoes on the peninsula and a popular start for multi-day trekking. Now tourists can get in touch right at the edge of the crater.
