Belarusian Tractors Conquer Latin America: Foreign Farmers Want to Switch to MTZ Equipment

Minsk Tractor Works Showed Its Machines in Peru and Ecuador

Minsk Tractor Works showcased Belarus tractors in several regions of Peru and Ecuador. According to the MTZ press service, local farmers appreciated the Belarusian products.

In 2023, the prospects for supplying MTZ equipment to Peru were already discussed during the Belarusian delegation's visit to Lima. At that time, the plant demonstrated its production potential, and representatives of state bodies confirmed the need to purchase agricultural, communal, and special equipment. Ecuador is also being considered by MTZ as a promising market in Latin America.

The Belarus line of equipment includes models for any task — from compact tractors for orchards and vineyards to multi-ton machines for large-scale field work. For example, the Belarus 82.1 model is equipped with an 81-horsepower D-243S2 diesel engine with direct fuel injection, a mechanical 18-speed gearbox, and a hydraulic hitch system with a lifting capacity of up to 3200 kg. The tractor is capable of reaching speeds of up to 34 km/h and overcoming fords up to 0.85 meters deep. And for the most energy-intensive tasks, MTZ is preparing the flagship Belarus 5425 model with a capacity of 542 hp with a hydromechanical transmission and a cabin with a climate control system, capable of operating without reducing power for up to ten hours.

Minsk Tractor Works is one of the leaders in global agricultural machinery manufacturing, founded in 1946. The company employs more than 15,000 people.
