A new model of space economy has been launched in Russia. The State Transport Leasing Company (GTLK) has transferred the first three Zorkiy-2M Earth remote sensing satellites to the Sputniks group of companies.
The devices were launched from the Vostochny Cosmodrome at the end of 2025. After that, they underwent three months of flight testing. Now the satellites are ready for operation.
The data they collect will be available by subscription. It is planned to use them in urban and agricultural sectors, construction, infrastructure monitoring, and emergency response.
The transfer of satellites for leasing became the first transaction of this format in Russia. According to Mikhail Parnev, General Director of GTLK, this is a new model for the development of the industry, which accelerates the creation of satellite constellations and makes space services more accessible to business and the state.
In addition, the parties agreed to develop ground infrastructure. This includes the creation of control complexes and data receiving stations. Further development of Russian low-orbit satellites and their adaptation to the tasks of transport and infrastructure projects is also planned.
