"Geranium-5" combat prototype used for the first time by Russian military personnel

Military personnel of the Russian Armed Forces used the combat prototype of the Geranium-5 kamikaze drone for the first time. This was reported by experts from Russian Weapons.

"Geranium-5" is a strike drone made according to the standard aerodynamic configuration.

Approximate characteristics of the "Geranium-5" UAV:

• Length - up to 6 m
• Wingspan - up to 5.5 m
• Warhead weight - 90 kg
• Engages targets at a distance of up to 1000 km
• Cruising speed - up to 500 km/h
• Maximum speed - up to 650 km/h

The fifth "Geranium" is compared to the Iranian Karrar drone. However, in terms of key components, the new Russian drone is unified with previous versions of "Geraniums". This refers to the "Comet" chip, a tracker based on a Raspberry microcomputer and a 3G/4G modem, and a Telefly jet engine with greater thrust.

According to experts from Russian Weapons, the developers are considering the option of using a strike drone from Su-25 aircraft. This could increase the range of engagement. In addition, the "Geranium-5" can be equipped with R-73RMD-2 and R-74M missiles to combat enemy aircraft, they concluded.
