Russian Analogues of Starlink Terminals Shown in Photos for the First Time

The Rubicon Center Demonstrated the Spirit-030 and Kvadrat Satellite Communication Systems

The Rubicon Center for Unmanned Systems in a new promotional video first showed domestic analogues of Starlink — Spirit-030 and Kvadrat satellite communication terminals. Judging by the snow in the background, they are being mastered for at least several months.

It is known from open sources that Spirit works with geostationary satellites of the Russian group. All transmitted information is encrypted, including voice communication, increasing the channel's resistance to interference and interception.

Judging by the appearance, both devices use a phased antenna array.

This will allow the terminal to automatically aim at satellites even without the use of moving mechanical parts.

The terminals are used for communication between units, artillery fire adjustment, and intelligence data transmission.

As a reminder, in March 2026, 16 spacecraft of the Rassvet space group were launched into orbit to provide broadband Internet with speeds up to 1 Gbps anywhere on Earth.

The commercial launch of the service is scheduled for 2027 — by this time, more than 250 devices should be in orbit.
