Specialists of JSC "Design Bureau "Display" (State Military Industrial Committee of Belarus) have developed a new machine gun belt feeding system that works with most common types of small arms and cannon armament. The solution has already interested manufacturers of armored vehicles and combat modules.
The system is compatible with domestic and foreign models: PKT, PKTM, KORD, NSV, NSVT, KPVT, 2A42/2A72, as well as Browning M2 and M240. Cartridges of calibers 7.62×51, 7.62×54, 12.7×99, 12.7×108, 14.5×114 and 30×165 mm are supported. This allows using one design in different projects without major modifications.
The development is based on a flexible telescopic sleeve made of segmented metal. Its length can be changed by adding or removing links, and special adapters provide quick connection to the weapon and ammunition box. The passive hook-and-pull system eliminates cartridge jamming, and the sleeve design can withstand bending and twisting in the range from 180° to 360°, which simplifies installation in cramped conditions of the fighting compartment.
The engineers have provided for operation in any climatic zones: the materials and components of the system retain functionality at extreme temperatures, humidity and dustiness. The solution is suitable for both stationary firing points and for installation on remotely controlled combat modules, tracked and wheeled robotic platforms, armored vehicles and self-propelled units.
