A new system has been created in Russia that allows detecting a dangerous disease in women at an early stage without blood sampling and without biopsy. The details were revealed by Deputy Prime Minister Tatyana Golikova.
According to Golikova, scientists have developed and registered original medical devices for diagnosing diseases of the female reproductive system, including a test system for early detection of endometrial cancer. These solutions are currently undergoing testing.
Golikova also spoke about other Russian developments in medicine. Domestic manufacturers have registered new medical devices for cardiovascular surgery, resuscitation, and disease diagnostics. Among them are microcatheters for cerebral vessels, which are used in the treatment of strokes, as well as 42 items of medical devices with remote data transmission.
Since 2025, as part of technological leadership, clinical trials and tests are being conducted on 14 original drugs and 23 medical devices that have no analogues in the world. Their implementation is planned from 2027.
Among these developments is a vaccine for allergies to birch pollen and cross-food allergies. According to preliminary estimates, about 20 million adult residents of the country need it.
The drug "EnteroMix" is undergoing research, designed to treat dense cancerous tumors. According to Golikova, about 600 thousand new cases of such diseases are recorded annually.
In addition, research is being conducted on an innovative non-opioid drug for relieving chronic pain syndrome, primarily in elderly patients. According to preliminary data, its demand may be about 21 million people per year.
Peptide drugs for the treatment of bladder and gastrointestinal cancer are being studied separately. According to the data provided, more than 80 thousand patients need such therapy annually.
Another area is clinical research of medical devices for the correction of neurocognitive disorders, including memory and attention impairment.
To ensure technological sovereignty, Russia has organized domestic production of 992 medical devices that were not previously produced in the country.
The production of 345 drugs has also been established. Among them are 25 items from the list of vital and essential medicines that were not previously produced in Russia. They are intended for the treatment of oncological diseases, spinal muscular atrophy, hepatitis C, diabetes mellitus, myocardial infarction, deep vein thrombosis, epilepsy, arthritis, chronic kidney diseases, respiratory tract and other diseases.
To conduct clinical trials and tests of drugs and medical devices, as well as to test new medical technologies, eight clinical bases have been created within the framework of the national project. They operate in federal organizations of the Ministry of Education and Science, the Ministry of Health and the FMBA in the most priority areas, including surgery, oncology, cardiology, neurology and regenerative biomedicine.
