A ship strike group consisting of small missile ships (MRK) "Stavropol" (project 21631 "Buyan-M") and "Odintsovo" (project 22800 "Karakurt") carried out artillery fire at targets in the Baltic Sea. This was reported by the press service of the Baltic Fleet.
A small ship shield was used to simulate an enemy ship. The target was fired from artillery installations of 100 mm and 130 mm caliber.
The Baltic sailors also destroyed unmanned boats (BECs) with fire from large-caliber machine guns. Boat models became targets.
The crews of "Stavropol" and "Odintsovo" conducted electronic missile launches with "Caliber" complexes at targets simulating a detachment of warships of a mock enemy, and at coastal targets.
About "Caliber" missiles
A line of cruise missiles was developed by specialists from the Novator Design Bureau. The projectiles hit ground, sea and underwater targets at a distance of up to 2600 km. Since "Caliber" moves at ultra-low altitudes (up to 20 m) at a subsonic speed of 0.8 Mach on the march, and then accelerates to supersonic speed on the final section of the trajectory, it is difficult to intercept. In the West, Russian missiles are considered a formidable weapon.
