The crew of the small missile ship (MRC) "Stavropol" of project 21631 "Buyan-M" (carrier of "Kalibr" cruise missiles) successfully carried out artillery firing at sea targets in the Baltic Sea. This was reported by the press service of the Baltic Fleet.
As a sea target during the firing, a special shield was used, simulating a warship of a mock enemy. Firing at it was carried out from 100 mm and 30-millimeter artillery mounts.
The ship's artillerymen hit the target, demonstrating high accuracy of fire. The crew of the "Stavropol" also conducted training in combating unmanned boats of a mock enemy. During the exercises, models of unmanned boats (stationary and controlled) were destroyed using fire from ship artillery and large-caliber machine guns.
The MRC "Stavropol" of project 21631 "Buyan-M" is designed to protect the economic zone of the state in inland marine basins. The ship is equipped with an A-190 artillery mount with a caliber of 100 millimeters, an AK-630M-2 "Duet" anti-aircraft mount, and modern control and radio communication systems. The main weapon of the MRC is the universal shipborne firing complex 3S14, which can carry eight "Kalibr-NK" and/or "Onyx" cruise missiles.
Currently, the Baltic Fleet includes four ships of project 21631 — "Zeleny Dol", "Serpukhov", "Grad" and "Naro-Fominsk".
Earlier, www1.ru reported that the MRC "Stavropol" started sea trials in the Baltic Sea.
