The Altai Tire Plant has sent the first prototype of an aircraft tire for the nose landing gear of the Sukhoi Superjet 100 aircraft for testing. Before being sent, the product successfully passed hydraulic tests, which confirmed the tightness and strength of the structure.
For the manufacture of the tire, the plant's specialists used a new hydraulic vulcanizer with a sector mold. All technological operations were performed in compliance with the strict requirements of the aviation industry.
The tire is currently undergoing bench tests, which will show how it behaves in conditions close to real operational loads. If the tests are successful, the plant will begin the certification procedure and preparation for mass production.
Full import substitution for tires for the SSJ-100 will occur after all permits are obtained and the assembly line is launched. The first sample sent for testing is a practical step towards making domestic aviation less dependent on imported components.
