The crew of the diesel-electric submarine "Ufa" (project 636.3 code "Varshavyanka") practiced one of the most difficult elements of training - evacuation through a torpedo tube in complete absence of visibility. The sailors had to crawl through the passage of the flooded apparatus, communicating by tapping.
Such evacuation is used only in emergency situations and is considered one of the most dangerous scenarios on a submarine. Therefore, crews practice this element at least once a year.
It gets easier every year. The main thing is to be calm and not panic. If panic starts, then that's it.
The press service of the Pacific Fleet called the crew of the "Ufa" one of the best in the Navy in tactical training.
It should be noted that the military often conduct exercises on the verge of human and equipment capabilities. For example, recently the crews of Su-30SM and Su-24M fighters practiced air refueling almost blindly, performing docking with the Il-78 tanker in complete darkness.
