GigaChat Started Remembering Users: Sber Took a Step Towards Personal AI Assistant

New memory mode allows the neural service to take into account important facts about the person

For a long time, many chatbots were simply designed. The user asked a question, received an answer, and then everything started almost from scratch. However, this logic is changing. GigaChat has received one of the most notable updates in recent times - a long-term memory function. The service can remember important facts about the user, such as their profession, habits, and other data that helps to more accurately tailor responses to a specific person.

Sber called this the first step towards creating personal AI assistants of a new type. According to Anton Frolov, Senior Vice President and Head of Generative AI, in the future such systems will be able to not only answer questions, but also independently solve problems in the background.

Anton Frolov also said that Sber expects the economic effect of generative AI to grow to 100 billion rubles in 2026.

Another important thought from Frolov's words is not related to GigaChat itself, but to the market as a whole. According to his assessment, the creation of AI services is becoming more accessible. The example of Chinese AI showed that for a high-quality result, trillion-dollar investments and the construction of data centers in space are not necessarily needed, as, for example, Tesla and SpaceX founder Elon Musk suggests.
