The first photo of the new reactive strike drone "Geran-5" has appeared online. As you can see, the drone is significantly different from its predecessors.
Instead of the usual "flying wing" design, the "Geran-5" received a classic fuselage about 6 m long with a straight wing.
Military expert Sergei Dovlatov clarified that the key feature of the new product is a powerful Telefly jet engine that accelerates the aircraft to 600 km/h.
It should be emphasized that the Russian Ministry of Defense has not officially reported on the use of "Geran-5". However, specialized resources stated that the drone has a flight range of up to 1000 km and a warhead weighing about 90 kg, blurring the line between a drone and a missile.
Military expert Nikolai Tsygikalo noted that GLONASS or GPS satellite navigation can be used on board the "Geran-5". He compared the reactive drone to the FAB-100 aerial bomb, but with a longer range of use.
