Military Pilot Reveals Problem with Installing EW on Ka-52 "Alligator" and Mi-28

The problem with installing effective infantry electronic warfare (EW) equipment on Ka-52 "Alligator" and Mi-28 helicopters lies in the incompatibility with the rotorcraft's systems. This was reported by a retired military pilot and author of the Telegram channel Fighterbomber.

According to him, almost all crews are equipped with drone detectors, but this is not enough.

The main problem is the lack of electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) with the helicopters' own electronic systems. That is, EW, not tested for EMC, can kill the helicopter itself.

The military pilot added that theoretically, the components of the EW station can be installed in the "doghouses" of the helicopters, and the antennas can be brought out and mounted on pylons with the inclusion button in the cockpit. However, the "suitcase" with the main station itself cannot be taken into the cockpit of the machines.
