A key stage in the construction of the "Luganskaya" station of the Biryulyovskaya metro line has started in Moscow. Contractors have begun erecting the enclosing structures of the excavation pit. The "slurry wall" technology was chosen for these works. Vladimir Efimov, Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Urban Planning Policy and Construction, said that over 20,000 cubic meters of monolithic reinforced concrete will be used at the site.
A slurry wall with a thickness of at least one meter and a length of more than 524 meters is planned at the construction site of the Luganskaya metro station. The total area of the station complex excavation pit will reach almost eight thousand square meters. A bracing system is planned to be used as fastening, the total weight of which will exceed 13.2 thousand tons.
The technology has proven itself well when working in dense urban development. Builders use grabs and milling cutters to dig deep and narrow trenches. Ready-made reinforcing cages are lowered inside and filled with concrete. The result is a strong vertical structure. It holds the soil and does not let water through. The main advantage of the method is that it allows you to dig a pit close to existing buildings and communications without damaging engineering networks.
The entire process from land development to excavation pit operation is controlled by surveyors and geologists. They monitor the stability of the rocks and the position of the structures. To complete the tasks, it is planned to involve more than 100 units of main equipment on the site. The machine park will include excavators of various modifications, bulldozers, crawler cranes and dump trucks. This amount of machinery is necessary to comply with the work schedule in difficult conditions.
The total length of the Biryulyovskaya line will exceed 22 kilometers. The new branch will connect the territory of the former ZIL industrial zone with the Biryulyovo Vostochnoye and Biryulyovo Zapadnoye districts. The route will include 10 stations.
